Generally speaking I am pretty healthy. I did go for a physical recently because my blood pressure had crept wwaayy up and I was not feeling my best. Cholesterol is normal, HDL’s are high and all that. I know that I have a family history of high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes, so getting things checked was a good idea. Two diagnoses came about: high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes.
Luckily as a family we have already made lifestyle changes to stay healthy. We have cut out a lot of processed foods, salt and sugar. We get plenty of exercise. We drink tons of water. Do we go off the wagon from time to time, yep we do. What is this mean for the future? It means better management of both conditions.
Having high blood pressure and diabetes is not going to deter me from doing anything I have planned. It is all just a part of life now and can be managed by making healthy living choices.
Why am I telling you? Well, it doesn’t hurt to get periodic health checks and if you are proactive you can lessen your risks on a variety of health issues. Apparently the only thing you really can’t avoid is needing bifocals at 40.
Light, Love and Peace!
