Happy Thanksgiving To One and All

I used to write letters and cards to all my friends and family at the end of the year. Then it became an email, now I simply blog to the world a re-cap of the year. This year has been one hell of a roller coaster ride. That is the only way to describe it. It started off great, we were on track, getting our feet planted firmly back on the ground and ready to move ahead. I was going to write and farm full time and Jay was going to continue working outside the home. Then he passed away and my world got turned upside down. Friends and family were great support and helped us all tremendously. I don’t think any of us would have survived otherwise.

I don’t think I can ever thank anyone enough for their love, support and generosity. If it weren’t for you all we wouldn’t be on our way to creating our new life.

I feel that while we made some seemingly sudden changes, I think the decisions I made for us were the right ones. I miss my friends terribly but the opportunities for myself and the kids here in SW Virginia have been amazing, with more still coming along. It has been a relief to not worry about fixing the roof, overloading circuits, how to get flooring in, etc. There are little things that need to be done in the new house but nothing major. I have work that I can honestly say I totally enjoy. The kids have found new friends and are doing exceedingly well in school. They will both be adding sports to their already busy schedules but I am whole heartily with them on this. Academically I couldn’t ask for more from them.

As for myself, there are good days and there are bad days. One of these days I will schedule myself for a total nervous breakdown. Until then I will keep right on trucking and take strength from the knowledge that I am doing what is best for my children.

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving, Happy Holidays and  Joyous New Year!

May the sun always shine on your windowpane, May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain, May the hand of a friend always be near you, May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you!

Light, Love and Peace!
