The First Day of the New Year

We are still on break, at least technically. We will start with our first 4 week session on Monday, January 5, 2009. This session we will be covering ecology for science. This will include the water cycle, plant growth and animal communities. We will be using container gardening to illustrate many of these features along with journeys into wildlife habitats. Reading we will be discussing Magic Tree House Novel that Claire read over break. Writing, Claire will have to take a creative story that she started and flesh it out and we will go over grammar and punctuation then. Math, a quick review of multiplication and then on to basic division and review of fractions. History Claire has stated that she wants to learn about prehistoric art and “fashion”. So we will take that approach to learning about our past.

We will be spending at least 2 days a week at the library and our homeschool group is planning on quite a few adventures as well. We will also continue with swimming for fun, exercise and lessons at least 3 days per week. This covers our PE section.

The first week in February will be our first break and hopefully we will be able to take a few days and go on a family adventure.

Well time to be off and set up the new wall of school and straighten this apartment out so that we can have space for fun, school and relaxation.

Blessed Be!
